Key responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans for NFC reader hardware and firmware, ensuring effective testing and validation processes.
- Perform functional, regression, stress, and validation testing on device features and interfaces to guarantee product reliability.
- Troubleshoot hardware and firmware issues at PCB, component, and software levels, producing clear defect reports.
- Work collaboratively with R&D teams to verify fixes, assess revisions, and validate performance enhancements.
- Design, build, and improve hardware test jigs, fixtures, and automated test systems to optimise testing procedures.
- Test and evaluate new components, prototype circuits, and engineering builds for performance and quality.
- Assist in qualification activities of suppliers, assessing alternative components, and validating RF/NFC performance.
- Support process improvements in test coverage, traceability, and production yield, contributing to quality enhancement efforts.
- Prepare certification samples and assist with compliance testing such as EMC and environmental assessments.
About you:
- Proven experience in hardware QA, electronics testing, or embedded device testing within a technical environment.
- Strong understanding of electronics fundamentals, schematics, and PCB troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency with lab equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analysers, and signal generators.
- Experience validating firmware-driven products or embedded hardware systems.
- Strong documentation skills with an organised approach to reporting and procedural writing.
- Methodical problem-solver with keen attention to detail and a proactive approach.
- Comfortable working independently and collaborating across hardware, firmware, and production teams.
- Hands-on practical skills such as fine-pitch soldering and component rework are advantageous.
