Key responsibilities:
- Assist in the management of financial transactions using Xero and linked software such as ApprovalMax, Dext, and Pleo.
- Set up new supplier accounts, process invoices and payments accurately, and reconcile supplier statements.
- Maintain detailed financial records and ensure compliance with school policies and financial regulations.
- Support administration including billing, collection, and reconciliation.
- Contribute to cashflow reporting, budget monitoring, and financial analysis in collaboration with the Finance team.
- Reconcile bank statements and support internal and external audit processes.
- Provide administrative support to the Head of Finance and Operations, including maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Manage resources and support the front office with inventory, stationery, visitor management, and general reception duties until responsibilities are transferred.
- Answer queries via email and telephone, offering professional and helpful assistance to staff and visitors.
- Promote a positive and inclusive environment, fostering respectful relationships within the school community.
About you:
- GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English at grade 5 or above; a recognised accounting qualification such as AAT is advantageous but not essential.
- Experience with finance administration, ideally within education, with good understanding of financial principles.
- Strong ICT skills, particularly with Google Workspace and school management information systems (MIS); familiarity with Xero is desirable.
- Excellent organisational skills, attentive to detail, and able to manage multiple priorities calmly under pressure.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, demonstrating tact and diplomacy in all interactions.
- A professional approach to confidentiality, data protection, if you have knowledge of safeguarding it would be ideal.
