IT Operations Manager

A fantastic opportunity for a dedicated IT Operations Manager to lead and optimise IT services within a reputable organisation.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the day-to-day management of IT support partners, ensuring effective operation of infrastructure, systems, and networks.
  • Oversee and coordinate Cyber Security measures, including monitoring and control of security tools and incident response.
  • Manage and provide direction to the internal IT operations team, fostering a customer-focused support culture.
  • Supervise deployment, maintenance, and monitoring of hardware, software, and network components to ensure high availability and resilience.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and align IT services accordingly.
  • Maintain vendor relationships and oversee third-party service agreements, ensuring compliance and performance against SLAs.
  • Develop and manage budgets for third-party support, procurement, and operational activities.
  • Support IT project delivery with an emphasis on operational impact and sustainability.
  • Coordinate onboarding processes for new starters, ensuring timely provisioning of equipment and support access.
  • Monitor and manage IT support requests, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
  • Oversee lifecycle management for IT equipment and execute regular reviews of Active Directory and security controls.
  • Implement operational controls for cyber security, including patch management, vulnerability remediation, and security monitoring.
  • Coordinate responses to security incidents and contribute to ongoing security policy development.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection standards and participate actively in Data Protection Steering meetings.
  • Track and manage Data Protection requests and incidents, supporting organisation-wide compliance.
  • Reporting to the CIO, providing leadership and oversight to the internal IT team and external partners.
  • Make informed decisions regarding service priorities, incident escalations, and resource allocation.

About you:

  • Proven experience in IT operations, infrastructure management, and service delivery within a complex or multi-site organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of cyber security practices, identity/access management, endpoint protection, and incident response.
  • Experience managing third-party vendors and ensuring contractual compliance and performance.
  • Demonstrable leadership skills in developing and motivating IT support or operations teams.
  • Solid understanding of data protection regulations and operational controls for compliance.
  • Excellent organisational and planning capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple demands effectively.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, translating technical information for non-technical audiences.
  • Analytical approach, solution-oriented mindset, with a focus on continual service improvement and operational risk management.
