Key responsibilities:
- Manage procurement activities for an engineering-focused supplier portfolio, ensuring quality, cost-efficiency, and delivery targets are met.
- Develop and strengthen supply partnerships, identifying opportunities for added value and climbing the supply chain hierarchy.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and foster a culture of performance excellence across the procurement function.
- Conduct regular business reviews, analysing supplier performance and setting strategic goals for improvements.
- Perform risk assessments and supplier audits to maintain reliable supply chain operations and validate supplier investments.
- Apply problem-solving techniques to address and resolve supplier issues, enhancing performance at root cause levels.
- Identify and develop alternative supply sources to meet quality standards and evolving business needs.
- Coordinate the introduction of new parts and adapt procurement processes to support innovation and growth.
- Prepare and manage RFI and RFQ documentation, ensuring clarity and compliance with procurement strategies.
- Lead change management processes related to supplier engagement, disengagement, and contract adjustments.
About you:
- Proven experience in procurement or buying, particularly within engineering or manufacturing sectors.
- Strong analytical skills complemented by solid IT proficiency, including experience with MRP/ERP systems (not essential).
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and understand manufacturing processes associated with machined parts.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and proactive in driving supply chain performance.
- Resilient, adaptable, and capable of working under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
- Professional qualification such as CIPS Level 4 or higher is desirable.

What’s on offer:
- Salary between £45,000 and £48,000 pro rata, depending on experience.
