Temporary School Receptionist

This temporary Receptionist role offers a rewarding opportunity within a welcoming educational environment, supporting the day-to-day operations of a busy school. Key responsibilities:

  • Manage the front office, greeting visitors, pupils, and staff in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Answer phone calls and emails, providing information or directing enquiries to the appropriate colleagues.
  • Handle school communications, including newsletters, notices, and post distribution.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as preparing reports, managing staff contact lists, and supporting school events.
  • Coordinate scheduled meetings, parent conferences, and school-wide activities, managing logistics and communications.
  • Ensure safety protocols are followed.
  • Manage resources such as stationery and supplies, liaising with finance for procurement as needed.
  • Support the development and implementation of administrative procedures to ensure operational efficiency.

About you:

  • Previous experience as a Receptionist, ideally within a school or education setting.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a tactful and approachable manner.
  • Solid ICT skills, particularly with Google Workplace and school management software.
  • Understanding of confidentiality and data protection policies, including GDPR.
  • An empathetic approach with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
  • Enthusiasm for supporting the development and wellbeing of young people.
  • A proactive and systematic approach to work, with keen attention to detail.
