Accounts Assistant

A dynamic organisation is seeking a temporary Accounts Assistant to join their team in Surrey. This role offers a unique opportunity to work within an international environment, supporting financial operations across multiple entities. Key responsibilities:

  • Manage accounts payable activities, including posting invoices from suppliers and internal entities, managing payment cycles, and processing payments via online banking and batch processes.
  • Oversee accounts receivable, including raising sales invoices, managing credit control, and updating debtor reports weekly.
  • Handle expenses and credit card transactions, ensuring compliance with policies and timely payments.
  • Perform weekly bank reconciliations for 13 UK accounts, including downloading statements and setting up new suppliers for automated checks.
  • Support finance administration by managing data collection, ESG reporting, and PSA data accuracy.
  • Assist and train colleagues regarding credit card responsibilities and reporting standards.
  • Develop and document financial processes, contributing to continuous improvement within the team.
  • Collaborate with senior finance team members and external stakeholders to ensure smooth financial operations.

About you:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an accounts assistant or similar role within a multi-national SME environment.
  • Qualified to AAT Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Strong background in accounts payable and receivable processes.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills with a high level of accuracy.
  • Effective communicator, capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Excel and Word; familiarity with Sage Intacct, Salesforce, or Expensify is advantageous but not essential.
  • Flexible, resourceful, resilient, and able to meet tight deadlines with a professional approach.
