Admissions & Transitions Assistant

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the Admissions team by assisting with the coordination and administration of open events, inductions, taster days, and transition activities.
  • Prepare and distribute new pupil information packs, liaising with parents, professionals, and staff to facilitate smooth transitions.
  • Manage the admissions inbox, ensuring timely responses and organisation of emails and enquiries.
  • Arrange assessment calls and facilitate baseline assessments, maintaining accurate records and notes.
  • Coordinate meetings with parents for transition planning, ensuring confidentiality and data accuracy in line with GDPR and school policies.
  • Assist with maintaining the school MIS system, ensuring data is current and compliant with school procedures.
  • Arrange uniform stock and oversee transfer of documents from previous schools to ensure seamless enrolment.
  • Support the wider admissions and transition team in delivering a welcoming and efficient service to prospective pupils and their families.
  • Participate in safeguarding, child protection, and positive behaviour training, and uphold school policies at all times.
  • Undertake additional duties or projects as directed by senior leadership, adapting to the needs of the school community.

About you:

  • Proven administrative experience, ideally with familiarity in school settings or similar environments.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
  • Strong organisational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities efficiently.
  • Ability to work proactively, flexibly, and with attention to detail within a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of safeguarding, GDPR, and data protection procedures.
  • A empathetic approach combined with a professional and approachable demeanour.
  • Competence in ICT, particularly with Google Workplace and school MIS systems.
  • Willingness to contribute positively to the school’s inclusive ethos and values.
  • GCSEs in Maths and English (grade E or above) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children or in educational administration is desirable but not essential.
