Housing Service Assistant

Key responsibilities: - Act as a friendly first point of contact for residents via telephone, email, or in person, providing accurate and helpful information. - Log customer enquiries, repairs, and concerns using internal systems; escalate issues where necessary. - Coordinate resident engagement activities, surgeries, meetings, and events. - Assist in arranging appointments such as tenancy visits, inspections, viewings, and sign-ups. - Support tenancy management tasks including preparing welcome packs, documentation, and monitoring start and end of tenancies. - Assist with advertising vacant properties, collating documentation, and updating relevant systems. - Attend property viewings with residents and support them as they move into their new homes. - Support the coordination of contractor appointments, property access, and follow-up on outstanding works. - Conduct site inspections and report issues related to communal areas, fire safety, or property condition. - Assist with record keeping, including tenancy details, inspections, and safeguarding concerns, ensuring compliance with procedures. - Maintain shared inboxes, prepare reports, and support administrative tasks such as invoicing and budget management. - Log safeguarding, ASB, welfare concerns, and escalate any safety or compliance matters to the HSM.

About you: - Previous experience in a customer service or administrative role, ideally within community services. - Knowledge of safeguarding or supporting vulnerable clients. - Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail. - Confident communicator, both verbally and in writing, with good IT literacy including Outlook, Word, and Excel. - Ability to manage a diverse workload in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines. - A full driving licence with access to a vehicle is essential. - Proactive, personable, and committed to supporting residents and colleagues. - Willingness to learn more about social housing, tenancy management, and safeguarding procedures.
