Admissions & Transitions Assistant

The successful candidate will contribute to a positive school culture and ensure smooth transitions for new pupils.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist the Admissions and Interventions team with administration related to student admissions and transitions.
  • Support coordination of open days, induction sessions, taster days, and transition events, including helping to set up and attend events as required.
  • Prepare and distribute new pupil information packs and facilitate baseline assessments.
  • Arrange assessment calls involving schools, parents, therapists, and other professionals.
  • Monitor and respond to enquiries from overseas applicants, including maintaining visa notes where applicable.
  • Ensure the admissions inbox is managed effectively, transferring emails to appropriate team members.
  • Act as a point of contact for prospective parents and coordinate school tours.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records on the school MIS in accordance with GDPR and school policies.
  • Arrange transition meetings with parents and oversee documentation transfer from previous schools.
  • Support the organisation of uniform orders and stock management for new pupils.
  • Contribute to the wider school community by supporting additional duties or projects as required.
  • Promote safeguarding, equality, inclusion, and diversity at all times.

About you:

  • Proven administrative experience within an education or related setting.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and multitask effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, capable of engaging with a diverse community of pupils, parents, and professionals.
  • Understanding of admissions procedures, EHCP processes, and local authority requirements (desirable).
  • High level of ICT proficiency, with experience of Google Workspace and school MIS systems.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality, and data protection standards.
  • Empathetic approach with the ability to handle sensitive situations with integrity.
  • Flexible, proactive, and self-motivated, with a positive attitude towards ongoing learning and adaptation.
