Payroll Assistant - Fixed Term Contract

A reputable organisation dedicated to independent living is seeking a dedicated Contract Payroll Assistant to support their payroll operations on a fixed-term basis.

Key responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with customers via telephone or email to gather all necessary payroll information, including hours worked and relevant administrative details.
  • Assist with the complete payroll cycle, ensuring accuracy and timeliness from start to finish.
  • Utilise BrightPay payroll software to process calculations, manage deductions, pensions, statutory payments, and payroll adjustments.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate payroll records, updating information regularly and ensuring compliance.
  • Manage pension-related payroll administration efficiently and accurately.
  • Ensure payroll activities adhere strictly to HMRC and Inland Revenue procedures and regulations.
  • Coordinate registration processes for customers as employers with HMRC.
  • Record and verify payroll-related information such as employee details and HMRC cheque records systematically.

About you:

  • Previous experience working in payroll or payroll administration is essential.
  • Proficient with BrightPay payroll software.
  • Good understanding of end-to-end payroll processes, including pension administration and payroll deductions.
  • Knowledge of HMRC and Inland Revenue procedures and compliance requirements.
  • An exceptional eye for detail and accuracy in all work.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Respectful of confidentiality, handling employee and payroll data professionally.
  • Excellent communication skills and a helpful, approachable manner.
