Administration Assistant

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide front office support including reception duties, telephone answering, and liaising with visitors, parents, and staff.
  • Manage and update student and staff records within the MIS system, including Bromcom or similar platforms.
  • Coordinate school visits, events, and external liaising related to operational needs.
  • Oversee administration of school dinners, including parent communication, meal bookings, and FSM/UIFSM eligibility checks.
  • Handle day-to-day school administration such as ordering stationery and health & safety supplies, managing accident forms, and risk assessments.
  • Maintain accurate records for pupil attendance, absences, holidays, and special diets, ensuring compliance with school policies.
  • Assist with payroll data, including processing hours, leave requests, and related documentation for payroll processing.
  • Support emergency procedures by ensuring documents such as Emergency Plans and risk assessments are current and properly filed.
  • Contribute to the smooth operation of the school’s administration, providing general clerical support as needed.

About you:

  • Previous experience working in a school front office or administrative environment (preferred but not essential).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Experience with school MIS systems such as SIMS or Arbor is highly desirable.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills and a friendly, professional manner.
  • Calm, approachable, and able to respond flexibly to changing priorities.
  • Attention to detail and accurate data handling skills.
  • A self-motivated team player, enthusiastic and proactive in supporting the school’s needs.
