HR Manager

Are you available immediately and interested in joining a well respected educational organisation? This is an exciting opportunity for an HR Manager to lead and develop HR services across multiple campuses for a 6 month fixed-term-contract.

This role offers the opportunity to influence a diverse and vibrant environment, with flexible working. The successful candidate will play a vital part in shaping people strategies, supporting key leadership teams, and ensuring compliance with employment law, all within a friendly and collaborative setting.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide professional, proactive HR advice and support to college managers across multiple campuses.
  • Lead on HR projects, including initiatives such as performance management and staff development programmes.
  • Manage all aspects of employee relations, recruitment, induction, probation, sickness absence, resourcing, and organisational change.
  • Support Principals, Vice Principals, and management teams to deliver their HR needs effectively.
  • Ensure adherence to safeguarding, safeguarding legislation, and safeguarding best practices within recruitment and employee relations.
  • Lead and develop the HR Advisory team, conducting appraisals and performance reviews.
  • Maintain up-to-date employment law knowledge and professional standards.
  • Liaise with trade union representatives and support college consultation forums.
  • Participate in college management meetings and contribute to the broader HR strategy and organisational development.
  • Ensure the delivery of HR services maintains flexibility to meet face-to-face and online requirements, supporting a multi-site environment.

About you:

  • Proven experience in HR management within a large, multi-site organisation, ideally in education or a similar sector.
  • Level 7 HR qualification or equivalent, with current CIPD membership preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law, case law, and safeguarding legislation including KCSIE and Safer Recruitment.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a team.
  • Outstanding communication skills, capable of explaining complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrates a collaborative and solution-focused approach, with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Adaptable with a flexible mindset, able to manage multiple priorities effectively.

What’s on offer:

  • £50,000 - £55,000 per annum, pro-rata, based on experience and qualifications.
